staying alive

It's only been week one. And I've seen people break down in class. Yesterday, I sat for 6 hours straight writing and writing with just a 5 min restroom break. The only other Christian who sits next to me and encourages me with a verse daily and a pat on the shoulder, walked out of class today. That makes that the 2nd student who has dropped out of this course. That's how tough my week has been. So when I read this quote it left me stired, humbled and uplifted.

My power just begins to operate in it's fullness when you have none left. The suffering that humbles you, the suffering that draws you into My presence, the suffering that dispenses My grace is also the suffering that makes you powerful. It's when you're broken, it's when you're at the end of your own resources, it's when you have nothing in yourself to lean on or trust in that you cast yourself completely on Me that you really become poweful. As long as you keep trusting in your own ingenuity, as long as you keep trusting in your own cleverness, as long as you keep trusting in your own money and your own ideas and your own strategies and keep trusting in your own ability to solve all problems and accomplish all ends in ministry or whatever it is, as long as you operate, you're going to be weak. No one is too weak to be powerful, but many are too strong to be powerful. You want to come to the end of yourself and then you begin to see the power of God released through your emptiness. - John MacArthur

God's just been showing Himself so mighty to me. I know He wants me here and He's going to bring me through this. I've 6 more tests to go. Out of the 8 tests, I've got to at least have 70% pass for 6 of them or else byebye cert. My finals is on the 26th. oh! would you be my prayer warriors...

I'm SO very proud of you Pui! I know that you can accomplish this. Your persevering spirit in following God's will has enabled you to stand firm in Him, where others have faltered, as He is our firm foundation, and solid rock in Who we can cling to. Keep working towards the goal that God has placed before you, as Jesus runs by your side daily. Your family and friends are also cheering you on in your hearts and supporting you in our prayers faithfully. Love you lots!

Hey Lydia,

It sounds like the class is pretty intense! I'm sure it's discouraging that the people keep dropping out and especially when the other Christian did. But I know that God will get you through this and you'll look back and rejoice that you stuck with it! I would venture to guess that He is not only using this to help you learn how to teach English better, but deeper eternal truths as well; that will serve you later in life.

Thanks for posting even though you're so busy! It's a good reminder for me to pray for you!

Love you!
