Been up to

I am officially in the clouds with church history. And it's not a "Cloud Nine" feeling. Thankful for the long weekend though! I love cycling, I go so fast that it's perpetually windy. I get to explore much more than my feet can. I love prawning, the excitement of catching and cooking it alive. Sounds evil I know. I love kite flying, it takes my breath away... big fields please! Got to do all these with my Bible Study Group (BSG) which made it all the more awesome! I think most people have grown out of their city ways as well. I like!

Went out to play

When we got sick of being in front of the computers! Have I mention that there's this thing about my kites being stuck in the tree or flying far far away?

Put on your shoes

I went for a jog for the first time in a long long long time. It felt wonderful! Went to Chinese Garden, photo taken with my phone. I use to exercise most evenings with Lois back in Thailand but I've lost my stamina drastically ever since coming here.

Okay, I know school is not an excuse because excercising is one's responsibility. So yes, one of my new year's resolution is to start getting myself in shape again, to build up my immune system and enlarge my capacity to take long tiring days and nights (working on assignments) and be mentally strong too (extremely strong) haha.

Today, I share with you my spot

This sem, I resolved anew to seize more opportunities to have solitude with God. On my way to school each morning, I take a stop at this spot (park of KK hospital). I am constantly amazed at the beauty God has created around me. Please keep me in your prayers tonight, doing a 2hr workshop on evangelism for MGS GB girls. Never talk so much before! ahh.

"This is what the Lord says: Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom or the strong man boast of his strength or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who excercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight declares the Lord." Jeremiah 9:23-24

cheers+sunshine+smiles

hello, hello. As promised here's a little recap of the past week. Why does time always fly by so quickly when you're having fun? The sun has really had its way with us. 'Chao-ta', smelly and sticky we still played hard. I think this was on Wednesday, where we had a game fair. It is satisfying to see that the kids had so much fun. I liked how simple and creative the games were. All these memories will always bring a smile to my face, warm up my soul, and remind me of what's good.

Swimming pool

Only managed to take these few shots before I couldn't resist diving in! Been ages since I last swam. It's so fun to be with children, because it means you get to relive all the thrills of being a kid. Well, I didn't even get to do these things when I was one. Week 2 with the team is starting up tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it because we'll be staying at Baan-nana and this would probably be my last time doing so! :/ sigh...

Summer days

I woke up early feeling all excited. It was the same excitement I had back in primary school, when my teachers brought the class out on an excursion trip! This time though, I was the teacher. Weather was just perfect for what we planned, Games Day!

The kids were all ready with their cute lunch boxes and colourful hats. We hired 2 'songtaews' out to a nature park 20mins away from town. We played so hard, once I touch my bed tonight I'd just konk off. Oh! how it makes me so happy to see them running around. The wonderness of a carefree life. I hope these pictures might bring you a little bit of joy too!

Jesus loves the little children,
all the children of the world,
red and yellow, black and white,
they are precious in His sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

al fresco fun

1. Ivory Height's garden
2. Roof top of Vivo city
3. Botanic Garden

As you can see, I'm trying to compile past events which I'd no time to blog about. I love green environments! Just chilling, eating and fellowship-ing. Being able to spend time with wonderful people while enjoying homemade food is more than I can ask for. Anyone and everyone can make and enjoy a picnic! I hope when I become a mum, I'd remember to bring my kids out to enjoy such simple delights.

Time out

" O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!" Psalm 8:9

When an art expert comes across a painting and declares, "That's Picasso!" he does not mean that the artist and that oil-streaked canvas are the same thing. Instead it means that the artist's handiwork is so clearly on display that you can see the artist in his or her work. Wheather you're studying your science, maths or biology books, peering into a telescope or noticing your thumbprint, what you're seeing is nothing less than the glory of God!

find me beyond the blue

Chains be broken
Lives be healed
Eyes be opened
Christ revealed

Off to the mountains, to 3 different villages for the next 6 days! The pastor there informed us that it's about 5 degrees. Now at home, I'm already in 2 thick woolen pullovers, high socks and sleeping in a sleeping bag + comforter. How am I going to survive up there? Don't ask me.

If you won't mind praying for us, I would really appreciate it! For: Journey mercy; Lois's violin won't go out of tune because of the cold weather and our hearts would sing unto the Lord as we do some musical items, helping out in a Nantah graduate Christmas celebration.

Hope you all are having a great day and week ahead! Until monday.

reserve a seat under the moon

Look who I got to skype with tonight! Kor is back in S'pore and that's how we got to talk with grandma too! In 45 days, he'll be coming up here and we'll finally be reuinted after a year! I can't wait :)

On another note, have you seen two super bright stars nearby the moon? Last night and tonight, I went star gazing and saw Jupiter and Venus! I read that another such sightings won't happen again till 2052!

morning walk in the woods

It was so great to spend hours amongst trees and a beautiful lake. How calm and relaxing it can be. Too bad I forgot to charge my cam batteries and it died way too soon. These pictures just do not do justice to this magical place.

Back at home, I looked at our garden and realised it was kind of overgrown and we need more flowers! Inspired, I got out my gardening gear. I knew that I've to pull the nasty weeds before I plant the seeds. Talk about back-breaking work! Some had thick roots while others were a bit easier. God then showed me this process was just like my spiritual life.

Those easier ones could be an obvious unkind word I said to my sister? And the more difficult ones of an impatient spirit? But the only way to find them is to get down on my knees and look. And when I find it, I have to pull! Not just cut.

It's amazing how quickly weeds spread and if I do not deal with it, it'll soon overtake the garden. I know I have weaknesses and I need to humbly ask God for daily help. I need Him so much. I'm sure it is a great sorrow to God's heart to see hearts choked with the weeds of the world because He wants us to be ‘weed free’ and beautiful for him, a delight for all to see.

What does your "life garden" look like?

little hobit home

It seems amazing, by today's standards that such a thing is possible. This was built entirely from scratch. If you remember my post of us making and drying the mud bricks, this is the end product! It really is beautiful, I've learnt so much. I feel that one solution to many of the world's problems is learning to live sustainably.

If you could call this a dream

The sun, the tress, the paddy fields- they are glorious. What more the one who made it all. I'm feeling both full and grateful. Grateful for just seeing myself in a mirror, being able to see my food when I eat dinner or being under a nice warm shower. These are things I've taken for granted. My stay at Baan-nana made me feel more blessed than ever; and Full of rice, rice and more rice. Breakfast, lunch & dinner haha. No but seriously, I fill so full of God's love for me. Feeling the breeze against my cheeks as I walk through the lush green fields, seeing the kids play hide and seek.

What a sight to behold. I floated... and floated away.

breath it all in deeply

Wake up early.

Nice cool air.

No talking.

Not being talked to.

Listening.

Today:

Chrissy!

It's been quite a day! Firstly, I sat in a freezing cold cubicle all morning. Why do studying or taking exams have to have this thing with ice box rooms. Anyway, thanks for your sweet prayers my friends! The results would be posted to me soon. I can now breathe.

Caught WALL-E right after that. This movie has barely any dialogue spoken and almost no human figures appear on screen. Sure breaks new ground! I found it visually beguiling and inventive. Somehow it's not just a kid's show, it works on many levels. Btw, Wall-E -stands for "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class". Just look at his puppy binocular eyes! He sure sweeps up thrash and hearts.

Later we had the perfect weather for a perfect outing, at Mount Faber Park. The view at Henderson waves was so lovely! The fresh air, greenary and blue skies brought me back to the land of the paddy fields. I don't know why, these things make me so happy. We had a picnic dinner at the park, a time of catching up and sharing with the other home schoolers.

The best part of my day was seeing Chrissy again and of course the other BL girls too! I can't wait to spend more time with them at our conference next week. And as for Chrissy, a whole month with us in Mae Sai!
