Israel Day 1

Shalom! It's 9pm here, Singapore time 2am. This is going to be a short post because I am absolutely bushed out after the 14 hrs flight and immediately starting our adventure through the various Biblical sites. During the drive from the aiport, I was struck by the green I saw. Certainly wasn't how I pictured Israel! Apparently many trees were planted following the independence war.

Okay, just found out I have to wake up at 5am! Zzzzz so I shall just tell about these pictures here. They were taken at Beth Shemesh ("house of the sun") This city, assigned to the Levites, marked the historical border between Israel and the Philistines. This was where Samson lived! I can't believe I'm here! Very excited for tomorrow. Will show you soon the interesting food (pita, hummus & ultra sweet deserts) that I've been eating. Stay tuned...

Hi Lydia,

Wow. Wonderful to be able to tour Israel in your youth. You will enjoy it for a lifetime. Everytime you read the Bible, it will come back afresh.

Spoke to your Dad and Mum. They are sending over a 'replacement daughter' by airfreight immediately. Lois is coming this Thurs midnight.
