When u hit rock bottom only way is up!

When you think you've hit the bottom and the bottom gives way
And you fall into a darkness; no words can explain
And you don't know how you make it out alive
Jesus will meet you there

When the doctor says "I'm sorry we don't know what else to do."
And you're looking at your family wondering how they'll make it through
Whatever road this life takes you down
Jesus will meet you there

When the jury says "guilty" and the prison doors close
When the one you love says nothing; just packs up and goes
When the sunlight comes and your world's still dark
Jesus will meet you there

When you've failed again and all your second chances have been used
And the heavy weight of guilt and shame is crushing down on you
And all you have is one last cry for help
Jesus will meet you there

When you realize the dreams you've had for your child won't come true
When the phone rings in the middle of the night with tragic news
Whatever valley you must walk through
Jesus will meet you there

He knows the way to wherever you are
He knows the way to the depths of your heart
He knows the way cos' He's already been where you're going
Jesus will meet you there
He will meet you there

Jesus met me right there :)

Been up to

I am officially in the clouds with church history. And it's not a "Cloud Nine" feeling. Thankful for the long weekend though! I love cycling, I go so fast that it's perpetually windy. I get to explore much more than my feet can. I love prawning, the excitement of catching and cooking it alive. Sounds evil I know. I love kite flying, it takes my breath away... big fields please! Got to do all these with my Bible Study Group (BSG) which made it all the more awesome! I think most people have grown out of their city ways as well. I like!

Farewell

Eccl 7:4 "The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning..." Saying goodbye can never be an easy thing to do but it's happen for all of us at least once in our lifetime. Ah Kong, Auntie Dolly's father passed away 2 days ago at the age of 81. He was like a grandpa to me.

Seen him in and out of the hospital from one who went out daily with his kakis to eat the best food in town, to being cared for almost 24/7 and yet he was still very much alive! He makes me ashamed of myself, for sometimes half-living day to day.

I don't know for you, but for me, funerals are for the living not the dead. It's a time that brings sweet remembrance, healing, a proper closure and permission to move on. Thank you Ah Kong for being the life of a party, for showing me that I must live and enjoy the abundant life in Christ!

for this, i have Jesus

Just want to climb into bed and curl up like a fetus. A little cloud of worry has drifted in and sat itself on my forehead. I hate grey feelings, it's not black nor white. I'm not an iron lady, I'm just a big kid inside.

I can't see what the future holds. I can only see what is before me today, what I will do in the next few hours. I can go about telling others how to fight their giants but I'm terribly timid when it comes to fighting my own. I annoy myself with my timidity.

while it's raining outside...

I thought I should type something here hahah. Something bright and cheery! I know you must be thinking FINALLY eh? Hope I didn't leave you in a dangle. It's been so long I don't even know how to start talking about everything. So much has happened, so much has changed. I did quite a bit during the holidays from Israel, Turkey to Melbourne! I love to travel!

I'm 22 now and into my 2nd year at EAST! This quarter is one crazy one with 9am-9pm classes. Felt a little disheartened at the beginning of this week with the copious amounts of readings. Yet when I look back on the past year, I survived by the grace of God, time and time again so what's another year eh!

Israel Day 1

Shalom! It's 9pm here, Singapore time 2am. This is going to be a short post because I am absolutely bushed out after the 14 hrs flight and immediately starting our adventure through the various Biblical sites. During the drive from the aiport, I was struck by the green I saw. Certainly wasn't how I pictured Israel! Apparently many trees were planted following the independence war.

Okay, just found out I have to wake up at 5am! Zzzzz so I shall just tell about these pictures here. They were taken at Beth Shemesh ("house of the sun") This city, assigned to the Levites, marked the historical border between Israel and the Philistines. This was where Samson lived! I can't believe I'm here! Very excited for tomorrow. Will show you soon the interesting food (pita, hummus & ultra sweet deserts) that I've been eating. Stay tuned...

EAST 2010 /2011 Student Council

I can only lead by following close to Jesus! Today, was our school's AGM. 3 Singaporeans, 3 from China and a Korean have been elected. Ee Foo is President! Woho! We were given 30 sec for a speech. I really did not expect this! In fact, when I was first approached sometime ago, I immediately declined it.

Truth is, I felt there were much more capable people than I. My average busy-ness and ministry commitments were also a high concern. I was calculating the cost of many things and carefully planning out how I would get through each quarter, ignorning the very fact that it is God who enables me!

No, I did not hear a clear loud voice of God if you are thinking so. Amongst the 14 names that were nominated, 7 were to be elected into the new council. I just told God that I am now willing and His will be done.

Yup, so I trust that this appointment, at this special point in my life, is from God. It's part of my growing. I will cast my fears behind me, believe who He is and what He says about me, and believe in obedience to His word. I look forward to an exciting new academic year with this SC, as we serve our beloved friends at EAST!

"The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever- do not abandon the works of your hands." Psalm 138:8. I will let this promise sink deep into my heart and mind.
