Aging gracefully

Her love for Jesus, commitment to Daddy and her joy in motherhood has laid such a beautiful example for me. "Who can find a virtous woman? For her price is far above rubies." Proverbs 31:10. Blessed Birthday, my lovely mama! love you to pieces.

01. She is the second of six children. 02.Was a talented gymnast in her younger days. (still can do a split now) 03. Is a chalktalk artist. 04 Loves the colour green. 05. Doesn't like ripped papayas. ('som-tom' anytime tho!)

she makes me feel old

Throughout one's life there is usually some people who leaves a lasting impact on us. This lady will be one of them in mine. The best thing about my trip was getting to know Elder Yeh who is 90 years old. Yes, can you imagine being 90 on a mission trip into villages! Hats off to her- it takes a lot to travel such mountainous dirt roads and brave the cold at that age.

I knew her as the VIP always at my primary school's events and when she prayed, she had such a dynamic voice which filled every corner of the school hall. Till this day, that has not changed one bit. At 4:30am before any single soul is awake, you can hear her praying.

The joy of the Lord is so evident in her life! She's just overflowing with God's love. No matter how tired you are, I promise you, you would never be able to sleep in a message she gives. She brings God's word with power through her expressions, humor, life stories. Most importantly, she speaks from her heart right into mine.

"Don't you dare think that God loves me more than you in any way!" God shows no favouritism. We all have equal worth. Whether you are a pastor, a sunday school teacher, someone who buys flowers for the church santuary each sunday, God has no ranking system! What a comforting reminder it was for me.

okay doing this on a scheduled post, meaning this was written before I left for the mountains but blogger has so wonderfully posted it just the time I want it :)

So to my dearest big brother, even though we are separated on your special day, I am thinking of you and my mind has been flooded with so many many memories of our times together. One of the things I most appreciate is your encouragements and challenges you give me. I am so grateful to call you one of my very best friends! I love you so incredibily much and can't wait to see you soon!

Off to the mountains, to 3 different villages for the next 6 days! The pastor there informed us that it's about 5 degrees. Now at home, I'm already in 2 thick woolen pullovers, high socks and sleeping in a sleeping bag + comforter. How am I going to survive up there? Don't ask me.

If you won't mind praying for us, I would really appreciate it! For: Journey mercy; Lois's violin won't go out of tune because of the cold weather and our hearts would sing unto the Lord as we do some musical items, helping out in a Nantah graduate Christmas celebration.

I love putting up the Christmas tree and all the cute ornaments! The tree has really added that something extra to our home, which makes me smile from ear to ear. Okay, off on a mission to finish my christmas cards! They are missing something. Not sure what it is yet.

reserve a seat under the moon

Look who I got to skype with tonight! Kor is back in S'pore and that's how we got to talk with grandma too! In 45 days, he'll be coming up here and we'll finally be reuinted after a year! I can't wait :)

On another note, have you seen two super bright stars nearby the moon? Last night and tonight, I went star gazing and saw Jupiter and Venus! I read that another such sightings won't happen again till 2052!
